Alignment of Ontologies: WordNet and Goi-Taikei
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper describes a method of alignment between the noun part of WordNet and Goi-Taikei’s Ontology. The result of the automatic alignment shows that matching words in Japanese as well as in English is highly efficient in extracting correct matches. Analyses of correct alignments by hand illustrate that, in ontology alignment, it is not always possible to preserve relative relations between concepts such as hyponymy or antonymy.

Using Goi-Taikei as an Upper Ontology to Build a Large-Scale Japanese Ontology from Wikipedia
We present a novel method for building a large-scale Japanese ontology from Wikipedia using one of the largest Japanese thesauri, Nihongo Goi-Taikei (referred to hereafter as “Goi-Taikei”) as an upper ontology. First, The leaf categories in the Goi-Taikei hierarchy are semi-automatically aligned with semantically equivalent Wikipedia categories. Then, their subcategories are created automatical...
متن کاملKitAi: Textual Entailment Recognition System for NTCIR-10 RITE2
This paper describes Japanese textual entailment recognition systems for NTCIR-10 RITE2. The tasks that we participated in are the Japanese BC subtask and the ExamBC subtask. Our methods are based on some machine learning techniques with surface level, syntax and semantic features. We use two ontologies, the Japanese WordNet and Nihongo-Goi-Taikei, and Hierarchical Directed Acyclic Graph (HDAG)...
متن کاملAn Effective Approach to Fuzzy Ontologies Alignment
Ontology alignment finds matching elements from different ontologies. A number of ontology alignment techniques have been proposed. But few of them are adaptive to fuzzy ontologies alignment. A key problem is that formulas for computing similarity between elements from precise ontologies can’t be directly applied to those elements from fuzzy ontologies. In this paper, we exploit WordNet to comp...
متن کاملObtaining Japanese Lexical Units for Semantic Frames from Berkeley FrameNet Using a Bilingual Corpus
An attempt was made to semi-automatically obtain “lexical units” (LUs) for Japanese from the English LUs defined in the semantic frame database provided by Berkeley FrameNet (BFN) using an English-Japanese bilingual corpus. This task was a prerequisite to building a complete database of semantic frames for Japanese. In the task, a Japanese word is first translated into an English word or phrase...
متن کاملValidating Top-level and Domain Ontology Alignments using WordNet
Matching domain and top-level ontologies is an important task but still an open problem in the ontology matching field, particularly due to their different levels of abstraction. Beyond that, validating candidate alignments is crucial before exploiting them within ontology construction and integration processes involving such kinds of ontologies. This paper concerns the automatic validation of ...
